First off, I'm a double-major in English and Religion.

I think Ohio Wesleyan is awesome. If you don't like Ohio's weather (snow and rain from late September to April), don't like the idea of a small school, and don't know how to find fun, then you probably shouldn't come here.

Alum Creek and Delaware Dam are within ten minutes of campus, so if your into the outdoors there's plenty to do during the fall and spring.

If you don't already know it, Ohio Wesleyan is the gem of liberal arts schools for pre-med and such. If you want a small school and you want a science major, Ohio Wesleyan blows every other small Ohio school out of the water, and many Northeastern ones as well.

Also, don't let college rankings fool you. Top 25 schools might be intelligent, but the kids tend to be stingy. The students at OWU know how to study without making academics the focal point of their life. Besides, you can have fun and still get into Harvard or Emory for grad school. OWU always sends a handful of kids to an Ivy or Southern Ivy for grad school. The only reason OWU isn't a top 25 is because it has a higher acceptance rate and lower tests scores (avg ACT score tends to be 26 or 27 depending on the year). In terms of the education it gives, OWU can definitely compete with Vassar or Williams.

Oh, and regardless of whether it makes the USNWR list or not, Ohio Wesleyan does have a lot of writing assignments. It might not be to the extreme that Kenyon or Oberlin is, but I think it's close.
