Date: Mar 23 2010
Major: Nursing (This Major's Salary over time)
The Nursing Program here has its ups and downs.

I go to the Englewood facility so I can talk about that [as opposed to the Valley Hospital]. You'll know what I'm talking about when you get here.

Education: The first two years are a breeze with the exception of some classes. I got a 3.6 something easy. The problem is the other extreme. Some classes are almost impossible to get A's on like the Stats course. [FYI, ALL the math professors in here are horrible. I talked to many students that go elsewhere and they all say their math classes are a piece of cake]. Another ridiculously insane class is Anatomy where the main professor literally wants the class average to BE A FAILURE: 60. If the class gets higher than that, then she makes the next quiz impossibly tough.

Now as for the last 2 years, the professors [in Englewood] are very warm and caring and really want you to do well. It is very very challenging however. I found the material easy to grasp but the tests were ridiculously impossible to Ace. I went from having straight A's to straight B-'s…

As for the social life, it's really what you make of it here in Ramapo. And yeah sure, security will bust you if you're too loud or if your neighbor reports you. It's happened to me about 3 times total in the 3 years I've been here so it's not that bad as other people say it is.

Students here are generally smart and studious for the most part. Not exactly cutthroat though. About 90% of the students look like they just walked out of bed or out of the gym. Diversity is lacking not just with race but with 3-dimensional personality. The student body as a whole seems very boring, apathetic, and clicky. Everyone here seems so worked up on studying and partying all day. On the upside, everyone here is pretty friendly and approachable.

The Campus here is lovely as are the dorms. It's creepily empty though on the weekends.

As for the Prereqs, Ramapo for some reason has an obnoxious amount of prereqs BUT they were the best classes I've taken here at Ramapo. It really opens your eyes to whole world around there.

Overall, Ramapo is a decent school if you want to breeze through college. If I could go back in time, I wouldn't come here though. I feel like there's so much more of the real world out there that Ramapo cannot provide through superficial means.
