Major: Social Work (This Major's Salary over time)
I am a younger freshman (I won't turn 18 until the year is nearly over), and I was expecting much more from Marquette. Some staff are friendly and easily accessible, but many are not willing to help you understand course materials or grades. Dormitory directors have also shafted me, ignored my pleas for help, and made themselves completely unavailable. The campus is pretty, but then you see news reports of crime just blocks away. Visitation policies are absolutely ridiculous. Many (not all) students come from upper-middle class conservative families. I have felt completely ostracized by the people living in my dormitory, and the only place I feel truly accepted for who I am is at work in the cafeteria. All of the students working there have a strong work ethic and understand the need to work in order to continue their education. I am counting down the days until I am done with my freshman and only year at Marquette. Transferring is an awesome option.
