If you're going to college, do NOT go to Potomac.  First off, the students are extremely negative.  The first week there every other word was: I hate it here.  There's nothing to do around here.  The students are close-minded as well.  I found it to be a terrible place.  Although I got a 3.3 GPA I got kicked out of residence on my first offense, oh but not including smoking within 15 feet of a door.  It's a dry campus, not to mention the cops are sketchy as hell.  They make up lies to get students in trouble and are not looking out for their welfare.  Lots of people get harassed and the whole environment is one of waste of time and worthlessness.  Plus the classes are EASY and BORING.  I got good grades, but what does it matter I'm not living there for the next three weeks I have left.  All because of one mistake.  Yeah, this school is a crap hole.  These grade the school gets are what I perceive them as, the upkeep is terrible...the pool sticks are broken every two seconds.  It's basically, crap.  I hope that people know how terrible it is, because the whole way the school runs is not working for its students.  Dead serious.

questionIs the school really that bad? I'm going here in the fall because I didn't get into WVU and later wanted to transfer. Is the town really dead and there's nothing to do? How are the dorms? And when you say the people are closed minded do you mean like, they just drink and party all the time?

responseIf anyone's being close-minded it's you, that or you're not talking to the right people, yes the town's a little dull, I live 15 minutes away. I'm not too sure what you did exactly that got you kicked out but they aren't just going to kick you out for no reason. And yes the smoking within x amount of feet of a door wasn't really enforced until last semester (Spring 2011). But the college isn't as bad as you make it out to be. I have nothing good or bad to say about the campus police, I never have/had to deal with them. And not everyone is that negative of a person, yes there's more negative people than there should be, but you're just not looking in the right places.

commentSchool here is really what you make it.. You seem to be the person that your describing that hates it because personally i've met some of the best people there and made amazing memories already. Yes the towns a dump but going to morgantown is what keeps us sane so i dont really mind it. University place is beautiful to live it and so much fun all the time.
