Kean definitely laid the solid basis to help me excel.

The faculty by far is the best part of my Kean experience. They are always there to help and many times go out of their way to address our concerns. I am very pleased with the professors degree of attention, respect, and discipline toward the students.

As with most other schools, Kean is situated in a city/suburb like locality. This is advantageous as it makes the school easily accessible especially for commuters via raodways and mass transit.

If one wants to live on campus there is plenty of housing as they just made two new dorm buildings. There has been a rising trend of students residing on campus. Half of all new freshmens are anticipated to enroll in on campus housing.

Housing nearby can also be found. I had friends who lived in a apt. about 4 min. drive away in queit suburbia (opposite direction from the city).

Again, as with most other schools parking is sometimes an issue. But now much of the parking problems have been alleviated as additional parking is available @ East campus(1 mile from the main campus). Buses run back and forth from East campus and the main campus every 8 minutes, not a big deal in my opinion.

Campus beautification is a priority. Some students say it might be excessive but I think if you?re going to be there all day, it should be a place where you WANT to be not where you have to be. Friends from Rutgers newark and NJIT that visited for campus events on several occasions and always commented on the campus aesthetics.

Over the last few years the school has undergone a complete overhaul. There is a new athletic center which includes a gym, indoor pool, indoor basket ball, rec. rooms, etc.-etc.-etc? I even took archery there . Also a new 6 story science building at the Liberty Hall campus (right across the street). Last year they also constructed another wing to the main campus library. From what I can think of now there have been at least 6 brand new buildings constructed in the last few years. Additionally, they completely renovated of the entire grad school (East Campus renovation). My advice is—visit the school, you DEFINITELY won?t be disappointed.

Overall Kean had been a great experience. I believe I got much more out of Kean than I initially expected (as did the friends I graduated with). I am very surprised at some of the negative comments left here about the school, I guess at Kean you get what you put in. Everything you need is there at your disposal, it all depends on whether you put it to good use.
