Marquette University

This University is overpriced for what you receive. The education and social life lack very much. The education lacks because it does not seem very diverse which is why I am going to a bigger school. The social life is really hurt here because of the surrounding neighborhood. But what bugs me is that Marquette is full of the same people. The freshman dorms are not the best and are very clickish. Another annoying feature is the actuality of the campus. It's really small and linear. You shouldn't bring a bike. Be prepared to walk on one road all day for four years. Oh, and people asking for money everyday after a while does really make things hard. Constantly I see people having drug trips while walking on the campus. Ok, the campus is really kept up well and would be beautiful if it wasn't for the city of Milwaukee. The negativity of the city really does the university a huge disservice. The people are nice but close minded. Not very much fun unless you become them. By the way the food quality slowly falls to muck as the year goes. The chemistry department is really terrible because it's so unorganized. It's organized by arrogant and lazy professors giving orders to all of the chinese TAs who can't speak proper english. In my experience tests are lost and graded improperly. In fact, my experience scared me very much from even going back into it. I know that it was not just me. The biology department is better but just very small. It's nice but not as nice as cheaper schools. If you want to take a pretty walk on campus forget it. Walk on the same road you walk on to go to class or venture into the ghetto. Lake Michigan is great, however. If you have a car you can do some great things. However, freshman year is isolating. A better everything can be found at a much lower cost. I suppose that leaves the rest of the tuition to the name of Marquette. Marquette should imply Jesuit tradition theology, philosophy, liberal arts etc. Marquette is not worth it. I must say however, like many freshman, I learned a lot about my self academically. I must move on to a university that fits me.
