Major: Journalism (This Major's Salary over time)
In this major, unless you are able to initiate work by yourself, you will rarely get help from others, even as a beginner. I know at this point, students are supposed to motivate themselves, but there is very little guidance for people, unless you go out of your way to seek it, and at that it?s often like you're wasting the professors' time. So many students are wrapped up in their own worlds, even though the advisor says it?s the best program in the country, almost like a family. The newspaper is a fair lab, if you have good work ethics. Expect ridiculous politics with the advisor and staff. It's never ending, and very tiring, especially if you aren't in a clique. But, if you, yourself knows how to work, and take initiative, you will do better. There is very, little guidance even for freshman. I would certainly suggest carefully looking at other journalism colleges first. Because first, this isn't a liberal arts college, the journalism department consists of three professors who are at odds with each other, which I guess is realistic. But the politics are really ridiculous.
