Major: Mechanical Engineering (This Major's Salary over time)
I love the University of New Haven. After visiting a few times I knew this school was right for me. The school is expensive no doubt, but you get what you pay for. While many other nearby State Universities are falling apart and have overcrowded classes, UNH is constantly improving the campus. The best part about UNH is that you don't feel like a number. Academic advisers and professors know you by name; something students on StudentsReview seem to take for granted. As an engineering major, the hands-on, practical approach the university takes assures you what you learn will be useful in the field and not random work for the sake of accreditation. Teachers work with one another to coordinate the curriculum from one course to another (at least in the engineering dept.) Being involved in 2 clubs and a varsity sports team has enhanced my experience even more. I have meet many friends on campus. I will say though as a commuter I could not ask for anything more out of college! I understand where residents are complaining though, since night live on campus is quite dead on weekends since many people leave. My advice, get involved! Join a club, go to downtown new haven or the beach; there is something for everyone. There is plenty to do, but if your idea of fun is sitting in your room and being anti-social then this school is not for you.
