Major: Undecided (This Major's Salary over time)
I appreciate the experience I had at FAU, though not so much at first. Foremost, let me warn you that the worst complaint sounded by all FAU students is the lack of campus life. More than half of the student population commutes and thus campus is dead after about 5 every night. Also, the campus is small and pretty humble looking, and the school spirit is always low. Other than that, FAU is a fair value-like others have said, you get what you pay for. The best thing about the school by far are the professors. In my experience they make or break your satisfaction with the class and usually the department as a whole. The professors in the English dept are wonderful and wonderfully underfunded, as are most departments that are not favored by the current dean, an advocate for the communications dept, from which he came. (The cah has tried to cut funding to the women's studies dept twice.)That is another pet peeve of mine when it comes to this school; office politics. It would be nice to see a more even distribution of funds, because we can't all be nurses and accountants.
