Major: Electrical Engineering (This Major's Salary over time)
Great school. This is a small school with small classes and teachers who are helpful and really get to know you. I transferred from a larger school where you sit in a huge auditorium where foreign teachers ramble on and do not teach. At the larger schools, the teachers are writing the next edition of a textbook or doing some research and don't have time to bother with The athletic activities are pretty much non-existent, but I did not go to college to sit in a stadium with 80,000 drunks watching a football team where none of the players graduate and are not on campus either. After graduating, I have plenty of money to go to any college football or basketball game I want to, but I still prefer to watch the games at home. The classes were challenging, interesting, and some were actually fun. You will need to know or learn how to get along with other people though, because you will probably be in the same classes for all four years. You really do get to know people at smaller schools. It is not a revolving door of students.New York is not within walking distance but about 30 minutes away by public transportation. It is close enough to go for job interviews or enterainment, but not too close to always be a distraction. There really aren't any sports teams to participate in, but if you want to be a pro football, basketball, or baseball player pick a football school and maybe you will be the one-of-eighty million who make decent money in pro sports. The other sports—track, swimming, etc don't have paid professionals so why waste the time? You have a much better probability of making a lot of money in finance, engineering, or med school than sports. There are intramural sports which are more fun, take less time, and easier to get on a team. This school is not cheap, but it is a good investment. I majored in engineering and am making more than 95% of all Americans. Also, job security is great—I have recruiters and companies calling constantly with job offers.
