For being a whole in the wall university, this institute has created some amazing people: an Ambassador and Under Secretary General of the United Nations, a few CEOs and some state politicians have attended Roosevelt to name a few. The most recognizable individual to have attended Roosevelt is Shel Silverstein. His writing and cartooning career began at Roosevelt University while he was a student. It is a place that will make you develop. You enter the university isolated and blind to the world around you. By the time you graduate, you have become enlightened. From the time of my first class in the Fall of 2008 as a transfer student to my graduation in December of 2009 and in the present, I have grown into a better person. Not only does this institute make individuals more socially aware, it prepers them for graduate school. This university is not a research institute. Its focus is teaching. I was able to receive the attention my professors who have helped me so much.If you want to be challenged and develop a wider perspective of the world around you while living in the greatest city in the U.S., I highly suggest RU.
