Having lived in KS for a long time, I had always known I wanted to go to KU. The school spirit based on sporting events I had attented seemed enormous and I couldn't wait to be a jayhawk. However when I graduated high school and actually got to KU, I found that the system was awful.

Housing sucks. I don't even know why they ask you to fill out your top preferences because chances are you won't get any of the top 3 dorms you choose. Seems like they just put you anywhere. Avoid GSP dorm not unless you wanna be stuck with a bunch of spoiled sorority girls and live in the room the size of your closet. Avoid McCollum not unless you enjoy being up every night at 2 or 3 am due to someone pulling the fire alarm. Nicest dorms would probably be ellsworth, templin and lewis.

KU is mainly dominated by greek life. If you aren't greek don't even think about running for student senate because you won't win. Also if you do not own sperry's, ugg boots, northface jackets, or anything that greeks decide to set as trends then ur chances of fitting in are low.

Even though I am from KS, I have decided to transfer schools. I just do not think KU is the school for me.
