After reading so many negative ratings of Widener, I'm here to provide the positives. As in any situation in life college is a situation where independent action and attiude are essential. Unlike high school, professors are not going to spoon feed you information. These are college level classes that require a new level of committment and understanding. Yes, classes can be difficult and some professors can be arrogant…but you will truely find this at any university. As for the area, it is true that Chester is a very sketchy area. Despite this, campus is safe and campus security is everywhere along with a shuttle system that cuts down on walking off campus. As long as you practice personal safety, not much happens. Since WU isnt far from Philadelphia, there are many opportunities to exlore and experience the city. Dorms are small, but liveable none the less. This is college, not a 5 star hotel. There are plenty of campus activities and clubs, but you need to personally seek them out and get involved. Regarding price, the university offers many scholarships that help lower the cost. In my opinion, recieving a high quality education from a university that is well known thoughout my field of interest (the medical field) is worth every penny.
