While some individuals will look at Virginia Intermont College as having poor aesthetic appeal with little to do, this is naturally an opinion based in personal preference. For those who are looking for an opportunity to improve themselves, gain a degree, and do all this while not drinking heavily on a nightly basis, then Virginia Intermont is a great choice. For those that want to be an individual in an environment with small classes and individualized attention, then Virginia Intermont is an excellent choice. Bristol certainly doesn't have an extensive night life, but it has a great arts scene and plenty of opportunities for the natural enthusiast. At the college you will find friends, recognition, and opportunity if you are sociable and amiable. If you are, however, an alcoholic that attends college to sneak into the back row of your classes, get a passing grade, and get out, then Virginia Intermont is not for you. By no means is Virginia Intermont pristine from an aesthetic perspective, but the family atmosphere, and small campus size allows your heart to grow and overlook such things. By no means is Virginia Intermont falling apart, as some would have you believe, but its buildings do reflect the fact they are well over one hundred years old.
