Where would you like to go instead? I'm looking at colleges now. |
First of all, SOUTHERN ACCENTS ARE NOT ANNOYING.And nobody wants to hear your ass complain. And YES, I have a southern accent, I LOVE the song Wagon Wheel, and I wear boots. |
Major: Business - Management and Administration (This Major's Salary over time)
I just finished my first year at Clemson, and I'm hoping to not return in the fall. If I had to describe Clemson in one word it would be GREEK. They are everywhere…which I don't not like. The problem with them, though, is that if you aren't involved with greek life you are labeled as a "GDI" (God Damn Independent) which is basically their biggest insult that they love to give. If you are one of these GDIs you must be someone who plays frisbee on Bowman field and sits in the shadows alone cutting yourself. If you chose to not go Greek, something is wrong with you and you must have failed at the rush process. The frats and sororities are just taking over and annoy me so much. I rushed my freshman year and didn't feel like I fit in with the one I got into to. I rushed really bad (ask questions and actually seem interested if you do). If I return to Clemson next year then I WILL have to rush. If I hope to meet more than my roommate while attending Clemson for four years then I have to be involved in Greek life. Don't think I'm a shy, weird, "GDI." I was one of the most popular people in my high school…up North. You can still go to parties if you aren't Greek…but don't plan on knowing many people except your "family." Other than the Greek Life, Clemson just isn't for me. If you love to be on campus while everyone else leaves every weekend…then maybe you will like it. I live ten hours away so when everyone went home and to visit other schools every weekend I was stuck in ghost town. The dorms aren't nice. But what from the 70s still is? I would live in Johnstone if I had the chance. It's a good area and FUN. You will meet so many people if you live there. The girls on my floor weren't social…therefore my roommate and I kept to ourselves. No one ever had their door opened or said hi. MUCH different from other floors I will assure you. Sports are awesome, I will give Clemson that. Clemson may be the best decision of your life. A lot of people have called their Freshman year their best year ever of life yet. As far as me, I regret sending in that deposit May 1st. Freshman year was a disappointment that I'll never get to re-do. Think long and hard before you decide. Is Clemson right for you?
