Major: English (This Major's Salary over time)
Like every school, CNU has its ups and downs.Socially: If you are a person who does not like school-sponsored activities/events, then good luck finding a party. Depending on the location of said party (and if you are a guy and have more guys with you than girls) you may get denied entrance. Also, the campus police tend to bust parties frequently. If you do not like to drink, and have a car (or know someone who has a car), the AMC in Hampton is an option for you, as is VA Beach, and parts of Norfolk (which has the NorVa with MacArthur Mall across the street). There is also a laser-tag place.Students: When you have a small school, you tend to encounter cliquey, high schoolish behavior. Most of it is facilitated by the girls, but the boys aren't innocent from this either. Unless you don't care about people being two-faced, you may have a rough time here.Academics: I found the academics to be somewhat challenging, but not always. I also found it very easy to communicate with my professors and receive the help that I needed.Aesthetics: CNU would look a lot nicer if it didn't have all the construction going on, this is true. I agree with other commentators that the school is probably just trying to make it look like the best school to be at.People have different views about CNU. If you're considering this school at all, visit once or twice during the academic year and just observe the people and the environment. Remember how you felt (comfortable/uncomfortable) when you make your decision on which school to go to.
