This review could not be more opposite of my experience here. If the reviewer thinks Cal Poly students are engaged (in anything other than partying), she should go to UCB, UCSD, UCSC to see people who really care about there education. Cal Poly not a "fraternity/sports" type school? Why do you suppose, then, most of our athletic teams are division 1? Have you ever walked down Hathway and Foothill at night on the weekend? Its like one giant ode to alcohol (RIP Carson Starkey). |
Major: Architecture (This Major's Salary over time)
Cal Poly is not a school for slackers. Students here are motivated in their majors and willing to work hard. You get to jump into classes in your major right off the bat and get LOTS of hands-on training. If you are looking for a fraternity/sports type school, this is not it. If you are looking for an excellent, hands-on education with lots of challenges, surrounded by other students who like to be engaged, then this is the school for you. I love this school, the town, the people. Teachers are easily accessible and classes for the most part are small.
