I'm enrolled in the online MBA program. I have about 8 months left in the program. A lot of success in the program will depend how much you put into it.

I will say about 20% of my professors have been excellent while the other 80% have been terrible.

The ones that are terrible will not respond to emails, help you understand a difficult concept and even at times will disappear from the class 2-3 weeks at a time. I have called the school twice about 2 different professors who went missing for multiple weeks. The school was quick to respond but it was disappointing the school doesn't audit their faculty more closely.

For the faculty who were good I can't say enough about them. They participated in our discussions regularly. When I encountered difficulty with an assignment, they were quick to respond via email or discussion board.

The school underestimates the amount of time required for classes. Most advisors will indicated 15 hours per week, however if you want to do well such as maintaining a 3.5 - 4.0 GPA then book on 25-30 hours a week. If you are in accounting, finance, or business statistics plan on 35 hours a week. These classes are the hardest in the MBA program. Please make sure you allocated enough time for study or assignments or you will flunk out.

As for the technology the school uses for online learning, they use Blackboard. This is excellent software. I have used it in undergrad and it is great for those who are not tech savvy. Also their online library is great for MBA research papers and is easy to navigate.

Overall the online MBA program is well developed and I have learned a lot so far. Just be warned as in all online programs, you are responsible for reading all material and doing the homework on time. There will be no one there to make sure you do your homework and no one should have to. After all this is a graduate program.

One positive note before I end. Indiana Wesleyan University is not a for-profit school or a diploma mill. It is regionally accredited and is not looked down as University of Phoenix.
