The grade replacement policy is a fair one. Some universities average the two together. You should be able to do better in a class the second time… |
Four times??? lol, no one ever has legitimate surveys on the mall. I can't beleive you stopped more than once. |
Improving your GPA? Frankly, I don't think grade replacement should be allowed anywhere. If you failed the course, you failed the course. Why should that fact go away? It's relevant to how well you did with the material, and it's relevant to future employers. |
Major: Animal Studies (This Major's Salary over time)
Because I transferred here from a different school, I can offer an outsider's perspective and I just don't care for this place at all. Some of their policies are just a way to kick you while you're down. Like grade replacement… if you get a C or a D in a class and want to replace your grade, you have to fill out a form and take the class again. Then, no matter what grade you get in the course the second time, even if it's worse than before, it is calculated into your GPA instead of the original one. What is the point in this policy? At my previous university, if you take the class over again, the higher grade goes toward your GPA. Why punish us for trying to improve our GPA? Parking fees are absolutely outrageous. It costs $200+ to park a mile away from campus. It costs $400-$600 to park on campus. It's just crazy. The state won't let the school raise tuition, so they charge us crazy parking fees like this. But hey if you drive a motorcycle or scooter, it's super cheap. The grounds are okay… The "mall" as they call it is a long lawn of grass through the middle of campus, which would be neat if they took care of the damn thing. Anything south of the mall is really not pretty and it's basically a lot of eye sores. They older brick buildings are pretty neat, but now the buildings are mostly new. I will say there is a very large food variety if you consider the area just west of campus (walking distance). However, on campus there isn't a very good variety (but I am picky). Like I said earlier, many of the students here are very arrogant and full of themselves, which I didn't expect at all. It's just unbelievable the conversations I overhear in my classes. ALL the girls wear leggings as pants in the winter for some reason no matter what their body shape, which is just disgusting to look at. And probably the thing I hate the most about this campus is the people who stop you and ask you to fill out a survey for them, and then they proceed to try to get you to accept Jesus. NO THANK YOU. You are ruining the reputations of people who have legitimate surveys. I have had this happen to me like 4 times.I've had one professor whose course I truly enjoyed (Dr. Roy Ax). It just seems like everyone else just doesn't give a shit about you or your grade. They are arrogant and full of themselves, just like the students and it drives me nuts. Anyway, I wouldn't recommend this university to anyone who values their education in any way.
