Date: Jun 11 2010 Major: Biology (This Major's Salary over time) Let me first say that Grove City College offers an expectional education. While the experience on the whole is certainly rigorous, it breeds tremendous character and work ethic. However, once you step beyond college, you will find that grades speak louder than character. I have entered into several vocational programs, and due to my 3.2 GPA, I have been outcompeted by students who did not share the same academic challenges. Be warned that many career opportunites will not take the time to look into your character. Rather, they will look at who you are on paper. Because of the substantial lower GPAs of Grove City College graduates, they are frequently at a disadvantage when applying into programs unfamiliar with GCC. Trust me. MOST OF THE COUNTRY HAS NEVER HEARD OF GROVE CITY COLLEGE. Likewise, this becomes very frustrating. I recently applied to a technical school in order to help pay my way towards grad school. While I was more than adequately prepared in my premed molecular biology undergrad, I was surpassed by community college students who coasted through the same biology courses with straight A's. Please be warned. If you are not staying around the PA area after college, you will be sorry.
