Would NOT recommend coming here if you are from out of state, out of all of the out of staters I met ALL TRANSFERRED AFTER ONE YEAR!!

First of all, coming from NY, the CT students always find a need to prove how amazing their state it…well its not, nothing you couldnt find anywhere else. To be honest I feel like the white students are the typical size 0, wealthy, wont date anyone whose not blonde type and the black students want to fight you for even giving them a second look. I did meet some nice people, but not many, not to say that's everyone situation.

Social Life: Mixed feelings…there ARE a lot of parties and easy ways to get alcohol but I also feel like had I not been friends with some of the more popular people, jocks, and made myself known, I would have not been welcome at those parties. If you do go though, I will say they are almost always a fun time. ALTHOUGH…after going to one party and not even drinking at it (pre gamed before) I got a ticket for simply being there, a 136 dollar ticket, and a 175 dollar fee so that my license would not be suspended in the state of CT..if I dont pay the fee (paid the ticket), anytime I drive in CT and get pulled over I can get arrested by warrant for me…all for going to a party!! This is not an uncommon scenario at all so be prepared. The first two weekends are fun, then everyone goes home because they miss their friends…give me a break most of them live 30 minutes from home if that. If you want a true college experiece where you meet all types of people who want a going away experience DONT COME HERE!!

RESIDENCE: RA's are good about not purposely trying to get u in trouble for drinking in dorms..however if you are vomiting, passing out or stupid enough to not hide your alcohol you will get in trouble. Dorms are acceptable, not so much vance.

FOOD: Let me tell you about hell on earth. People physically get sick from the food, it doesnt even go together, half the time your choices are pasta bar, mashed potato bar, and fries…unless you want to eat wilted salad be prepared to gain 20+ pounds. I never ate there because the quality of the food actually caused acid in my stomach to erode my stomach lining, was diagosed with this by a campus physician two months into school. Food is good first few weeks…then you're on your own!!

Academics: Out of all the bad, the faculty and academics are top top notch. Never had a professor who I disliked, actually had to EARN AND WORK HARD for A's..could not be more impressed. Advisors and counselors have half a brain, but professors are awesome.

Overall, I loved going to classes and learning, enjoyed a few parties, but everything else sucked. I highly reccommend going to a school with diverse crowd aka people from a bunch of different states not a state school OR going off campus, my favorie times were taking trips to other parts of the state by train with friends or boyfriend. Football is the most fun sport and parties…every other sport it good but in my opinion not as heavily attended. Good luck..ha
