I've been at TU for 4 years, one more year to go! What attracted me to the campus were the students. Just about everyone is approachable.

EVERYONE is given the run around when it comes to registering for classes, finanical aid, and etc. And having you parents call to the school won't do anything, yeah its annoying, but whats more annoying is when students are too lazy, or "scared" to go do what they need to do. Believe me, I've worked in financial office and know how disrespectful students and parents can be. There have been times when parents have called the office 4 or 5 times to ask something their child (who lives across the street from the financial aid building) was to "frustrated" or "stressed" to ask.

There isn't many faculty who you can't understand. Teachers seem to actually care about your well being and understand if you are having personal problems as long as you communicate well with them.

Classes are very very small. Teachers know you by name.

If you don't have a car or have a friend with a car it is pretty hard to get around. Crime is high in Tuskegee period. So if you want to go somewhere at night, don't go alone (common sense), go with a group. Yes, don't count on security to keep you safe, they are usually "locals" and let anybody they know on campus, whether they have a decal or not.

You have to be a hustler pretty much, if you don't like to hustle, then Tuskegee isn't for you. NOTHING is just handed to you. People in registrar, bursar, and financial aid are pretty rude, but that doesn't mean you must be rude back. Be as NICE as possible, and they will remember you, and when you need that favor later in the school year, they won't hesitate to do it. Try to get work study in one of those offices and you will be taken care of forever. I work in financial aid and you will be surprised has many scholarships I get just because they know who I am, AND they will ask me to give names of people who meet the requirements of the scholarships and I have helped my friends get soooo many scholarships.

Career fairs DO cater to engineering students. However, that doesn't mean if you major in something else you won't be able to get an internship during the summer or a job once you graduate, it means you have to hustle more. If the place you want to work for doesn't come to TU, then you find a way to go to them.

My biggest complaint is the cost, it is 28,000 to go to TU. Facilities are not good at all, especially the engineering building. Many things that are included in the tuition at other schools whereis you have to play extra at TU. Equipment that is needed during laboratory experiments do not work and can be very irritating which causes the experiments to be very tedious.

I was fortunate enough to stay in White Hall, two out of my four years at TU. I looooved my roommates.

The cafe has decent food, better than most colleges. But it will mess your stomach up the first week you start eating it. lol, but unless you want to starve you will get over it. Since my freshman year they have became more healthy, and the hours are more flexible.

Football games are great. Two clubs in Tuskegee, too many house parties that will probably be shut down before they end. If you are under age, you can STILL get alcohol at the Macon Hotel but it's very expensive.

Overall, Tuskegee is what you make of it. You can sit in your room and be a loner or go the union. your choice. Making friends is inevitable, whether in your classes or wal-mart. You WILL make friends, friends you will keep long after TU.
