I was a 2-year transfer here from a small, private college. In my experience this is what I found…

Good stuff:

UNCC has a great group of students

Campus is good

Surrounding city is great (at least parts of it are)

Not good stuff:

Gaculty can be hit and miss.

Many faculty remain removed from the students.

Educational support is lacking unless you find or create a good study group. In my case we had a good group of people, but honestly not many of them were strong students. I think that is the standard at this campus.

You will have to claw your way to help, resources, and opportunities. Nothing is handed over (some schools are much more encouraging in this area.)

  • I found the red tape to be too much. It is virtually impossible to get through to someone who cares, and even then "rules" seem to come from nowhere so when you have questions, there is no one who can help even if they want to. The administration in general is the WORST about caring about the success of the students.
  • Overall, my experience was pretty negative. I would NOT Recommend the school.
