I'm going to be a sophomore at Western this year. My freshman year was awesome. Parties were great, there are a lot of really attractive girls who pretty much all put out. I like the campus, everyone's really friendly and laid back. However, you do see a lot of random fights on the weekends. But for the most part everyone's really cool with each other, you can pretty much walk into any house party and the people there are really cool and nice. I had to get used to drinking keystone all the time, but I don't really think it's that bad. I would say that about 60-70% of my teachers are really knowledgeable and helpful, the other 30-40% kinda suck. I'm at Western to get a degree in law enforcement which pretty much everyone else is there for. The work is pretty easy, but I will agree that a decent amount of students there lack motivation and a lot of people that I became friends with ended up dropping out or getting suspended for bad academic performance. That kinda sucks but I'm looking forward to all the incoming freshman girls. The one thing that I really don't like about Macomb is the cops though. Apparently they used to not give a shit, but I've got two drinking tickets. Too many cops, you gotta watch your back A LOT. I've been forced to run plenty of times and usually they WILL chase after you, taze you, tackle you, etc. Overall though, great school, great people, pretty much just 13,500 of your average kids, which I like. There's not really any weird people. I went to Columbia in Chicago to visit one of my buddies, and a lot of the kids were really fuckin weird. I also went to NIU to visit another buddy and a lot of people were real assholes, I have no idea why but they were. I don't wanna talk shit about other schools but I really love Western and everyone that's come to visit me there agrees that it's a lot of fun. If you're interested in a career in Law Enforcement I highly recommend attending Western Illinois University.
