Major: Business - Management and Administration (This Major's Salary over time)
For God's sake, don't make your decision on where to go to college by the looks of the campus. High Point University is one of the most beautiful, in terms of buildings and grounds, campuses in the USA. And the mountains of NC are great, lots to do. But the quality of the education at HPU is mediocre at best and the administration is as unhelpful and generally mean-spirited as any group I've ever even come in contact with in my life. My parents said the same thing. I think because the President of HPU has spent so much money making everything beautiful and promoting the school as an up and coming place, he's created a surge of parents trying to get their kids into HPU and this has caused the staff to be overburdened with work. Thus, they seem to hate life. And you.Listen, HPU is like any college: they can probably teach you as much as you're willing to learn. But be prepared to pay a hefty price. The $35K price tag is only the beginning. They will nickel and dime you to death. And the financial aid "counselors" are that in name only. These people are strictly HPU salespeople, highly motivated to get you to pay full ticket so they can get their bonuses, I guess. After two years I left HPU and the people working in administration here are like night and day compared to HPU. Much more helpful and not nearly as cold and unhappy. Makes a lot of difference when you're dealing with people that at least seem to care a little about you.In summary, the teachers are pretty good, the administration is pretty awful and the price, for what you get, is way, way too much.Bottom line: go here if you want to be on a beautiful campus and pay $35K. If you want a top-tier education and can put up with older buildings and a weed or two, go somewhere else.
