My freshman year at LU, I was a bit lukewarm and wanted to transfer, mainly because I was homesick. Now, about to enter my junior year as a vocal performance and theatre arts major, I can honestly say that LU has become a second home. Not only are the students inventive and well-spoken, they are friendly and warm and just genuinely kind people. Being primarily in the conservatory, I can honestly say that I have never had a professor that I did not like. THE MUSIC DEPARTMENT IS WORLD-CLASS! the music school is really a hidden jem. the orchestra and choir and the other ensembles are wonderful and run in an efficient and professional manner. Although Appleton is not the most exciting city, it offers just enough activity - most is contained on campus. The campus is small as is the student population, which has its pros and cons. The classes are challenging and can be rather overwhelming at times, but once you learn the value of good time management skills (like I did freshman year), the curriculum is pretty rewarding. I love LU and am more than satisfied with the education I am getting there.
