If only the quality of the professors at HPU matched up to the student body. At HPU there are many wonderful professors who will do anything to ensure academic success. However, there are a number of professors who teach at surrounding universities who are only at HPU part of the time and who are difficult to reach. There are a number that dont speak good english, which can make it difficult to understand course material being taught.

The ironic thing about HPU that the campus is beautiful but the people are not. People are way to absorbed in their own lives to care about anyone else. Greek life is the core of the universities social system. If you dont rush a frat or soroity plan on living in social isolation for the next 3 years of your life. Theres always mixers or some type of greek based event going on that causes those who arent involved to feel as though they don't belong.

While the university does advertise other clubs to become involved in, you never seen them around campus besides the acitivites fair the first week of school. Its almost like they dont exist and are just placed on a piece of paper.

Athletics are not a huge part of the university at all. Students have a low amount of school spirit which matches to the low amount of students sitting in the student sections at sporting events. Theres no student enduced tailgating at basketball games, or loud cheering sections at soccer games: students at HPU prefer to drink or smoke.

Going to HPU is like High School Part 2. Everyone is gossipy and can find out something about someone in a matter of minutes.

Many students along with myself do not find the University academically challenging. Professors led students slide by and do not challenge them for their best potential. The university does not also have alot of viable connections for internships and jobs after graduation; its like once your done paying tuition your no longer valued at the university.

so many fantastic professors have left the university because of low paying salaries. All of the money donated to the university went to making sure their is granite in the university center instead of giving loved professors a bit more money each month.

the campus is very lopsided. you have your newer bulidings such as the university center, slane, blessing,etc. Then you have the ancient Smith Library, McEwen Hall, and Finch Hall. It almost seems like the campus is like New York Cityl you have Manhattan and Harlem, some are given the privledge of residing where it is nice and some live where its not as nice. Don't get me wrong, Finch,Belk,Mcewen,etc are nicer then dorms at other colleges, but when your a freshman and your friends have dorms with a double bed or their own room, you feel underprivledged.

Those people who are on athletic teams stick together and do not branch out at all. At HPU athletes seem very antisocial.
