This school lays on the charm to get you reeled in, then shows it's real face when you've put too much time and money in to leave. They're in a financial mess and need any and all students they can get, but they mismanage funds, charging upwards of $300 a credit hour, requiring you to live on campus until you are about to graduate and making you jump through hoops to get approved to move off campus, and pay hefty fees for room, board, and a meal plan, yet can't seem to make ends meet. Some of the faculty genuinely care, an are amazing, those are the people that the school used to be, but in it's horrible spiral downwards with financial problems and uncertain futures of the programs, the faculty has become very unpleasant and it is not the school you get sucked into on your college visit and conversations. Some programs are blessed to have amazing faculty that balance it out, but most departments have that one on that doesn't care. This school has a tradition of being a caring, close knit community, but a mix of bad economy and getting the wrong kind of professors on our faculty that only care about themselves and making themselves look better have turned it into a place that a lot of students regret coming. It is not the school I began my education at, that is for sure. If you are looking for a Christian school that cares, look elsewhere, at least until their money problems settle. I'm hoping once they get their financial mess under control, the school will again return to the place my friends and I loved so much.
