PLEASE do yourself a favor and stay far away from Simon's Rock. Before I went here, I read all of these reviews and thought to myself,
The only people who would write these are people with negative things to say
I was wrong. Simon's Rock allows people to be as socially unacceptable as they want. They condone being gay and your sexuality is always a point of conversation to the point of it being uncomfortable, having 16 different hair colors, wearing skirts as a man, and basically any else that is socially unacceptable. These are people who will never make it in the real world.

People here are also incredibly self-centered. They all seem to think the world revolves around them, which causes so much unnecessary drama. These kids (and yes I mean kids) have been pampered their whole lives and don't know how to do things on their own. Most brag about how much money their parents have and how big their trust funds are. Also, everyone starts smoking when they go their, just to seem that much 'cooler'.

People are obnoxiously liberal and clearly uninformed about how the world works. They all believe the United States is the worst country in the world and all of our soldiers are inhuman bastards. Having a discussion with them is about as exciting and educational as talking to a beetle.

Also, the more normal you are, the more people will hate you. I was, perhaps, the most normal person on that campus and therefore became subject to everyone's gossip. Because I kept to myself and didn't share my life story to everyone openly like the rest of the campus, everyone assumed I had a lot to hide. Even though I never touched a single person on that campus, I became the class whore. No one can go three seconds without gossiping.

As for student life, stay as far away from them as you can. Student life targets individuals and will follow those people around campus every night until they catch the people breaking policy. If you ever consume one drink at all, student life will know and they will make your time there miserable. Also, they condone smoking weed. That's right, an educational institute will openly tell you if you smoke weed they will leave you alone. You have no rights on that campus and the RDs, in particular Virginia (STAY AWAY FROM HER, FAR FAR AWAY), are not afraid to ransack your room until they find something you aren't allowed to have.

I love most of the teachers though. They generally care about your education and are a ton of fun. I had better relationships with my professors than any other students. The academics are great and after only a year at Simon's Rock your writing skills will flourish.

Overall, don't waste the money to go here, please!
