| If
you are looking for a non-competitive school to kick back
at for four years, then this might be the place
for you. That is, if you don't mind Stockton being
a fairly conservative, closed-minded, and poor area. There is no
public transit worth speaking of, so bring a car. Parking
is difficult as the student population at Pacific has doubled
in recent years, and Stockton has one of the highest
rates of auto theft in the country. You have been
warned. However, if you want to be a seriously competitive
player in the job market after graduation, a degree from
Pacific could hinder more than help you. Top companies and
graduate programs admit that they won't even look at your
resume/CV/application without an excellent personal recommendation from someone already on
the inside, so your interview skills won't even get put
to the test. Nearly all of Calfornia's state universities are
ranked more highly than Pacific, and cost much less. Thus,
before attending carefully consider what you want out of college,
if you need your degree to be worth the paper
upon which it is printed, and whether or not there
is a job waiting for you in the family business.
