As an out of state student, the University of Idaho was a great choice. Back in Alaska, the instate choices were UAA, the intown college most of my high school friends went on to attend, or UAF, a college up north with more than harsh winters. So my main goal was to find a good out of state school. I got accepted to many good schools, Oregon State, Montana State, Washington State, etc. but the main problem with attending these schools was financial. They are all very expensive. So I decided to attend the University of Idaho where my financial problem could be managed. When I got to the school I chose to go Greek, in my opinion a great choice. Being from a diffrent state, I saw only a few familiar faces and joining a house enabled me to meet many new people. I made alot of close friends quickly. The classes my freshman year were alot of fun. The teachers I had ranged from very serious to teachers that were very laid back but still made sure we knew the work. Not to mention a few were rather funny (great senses of humor). The sports activities were great. I went to every home game the football team played and attended the ocasional basketball game with friends. The Vandal spirit lives strong. The town of Moscow itself is rather small, but its a very friendly enviroment. I've come to know many local businesses that I've deeply missed during my summer break (Bagel Shop). The lack of places to get good sushi is a little disheartening, but if you search for it you will find it.The University of Idaho is a party school, no doubt about that, but don't let that ruin your view of the school, there is plenty to do that doesnt involve drinking.Overall I'd highly recommend the University of Idaho if your looking for a real college experience.
