I transferred to Curry after 2 Years of attending Community College. I expected to be challenged mentally, and to have a good social experience at Curry. I can honestly say that I was more challenged and had a better social experience when I was in Community College compared to Curry. Many of the students who attend Curry are from affluent backgrounds, and are in college just to be in college. The College is a backpack school, and most students go home on the weekend. Many upperclassmen also live off of campus, so most of the residents at Curry are freshman and sophomores. Many students leave after Freshman year, if not during their freshman year. Students who transfer to Curry find themselves on their own pretty much. The students of Curry are very uninvolved with the school, and many do not belong to clubs, go to campus sponsored events, or participate in any way to to campus. Campus pride is low. Very few students support Curry athletics. The Nursing program is really good, but they are more separated from the student body because they, one, have a very strict course routine, two, know each other really well since they are all in the same classes and three, they all are the best of the applicants because only a small percentage of Nursing applicants get accepted.
