I've seen many reviews about those giving negative opinions are just lazy and not cut out for Tech.  Maybe there is some truth to that, maybe I'm too creative for Tech.  But, I worked my ass off, every day, for a year now (fall, spring, summer) and have yet to do better than a C or D, failing a class on average each semester.  My friends all seem to get lucky with curves and nice professors who lower grade standards.  That's the name of the game at Tech: luck.  The tests are impossible and account for most of your grade.  You never know what to expect.  All you can do is study study study.  I wish I had gone to another school for these pre reqs and saved my gpa.  Now I'm on academic probation and may not be allowed to attend class in the fall.  I'm depressed, anxious, and miserable.  I've lost faith in my academic abilities.  I'm highly considering taking classes at Georgia State in the fall, and I may not come back to Tech.  I love Atlanta, and I love the friends I've made here.  I wouldn't trade them for the world.  Tech just isn't for me, and I'm learning to accept that.  If you're good at test taking, then feel free to come here.  I'm not a strong test taker, and it shows.  My homework grades are usually ok, but tests and finals destroy me.  They are impossible.  The professors are impossible to approach.  I've had 2 in a year that I've enjoyed.  Lectures are pointless, yet if you don't go, you usually get an attendance grade marked off.  All in all I feel the first year or two experience at Tech is painful and wasteful and I regret coming here.  Oh, I also had over a 4.0 gpa in high school and skipped my senior year.  Does that say I'm not bright or put forth effort in high school?  No.  I am not lazy and I do not expect to be handed things.  Tech is just not for everyone.
