I had a great experience at Freed.  Sure, there are rules, but unless you are a complete idiot, you know that coming in—every Christian school has rules and a dress code.  Go to a state school if you don't want to deal with that.  Most of the faculty are amazing; become good friends and mentors who I've stayed in touch with over the years.  I met some of my closest friends and my husband here, and I felt really well prepared when I entered graduate school—way more prepared than many of my classmates who attended state schools.  FHU isn't perfect, but no school is.  I loved it, and I wouldn't trade the four years I spent here for anything.
