I overall do appreciate my Wellesley experience (thus far). It can be a rollercoaster: sometimes I love being at Wellesley with my amazing friends and faculty, sometimes I wish I was elsewhere with boys and less of a studious atmosphere. But it all adds up to what Wellesley is like…Wellesley with boys would not be Wellesley, and I wouldn't trade my conversations and experiences for anything. My department is AMAZING and I think one of the most approachable though small departments. We regularly have small gatherings and events. I love almost all the professors in it. I have occasionally, though rarely, had okay (not bad, but just not good) experiences with professors in other departments.I would say some women can get very enthusiastic about their views…but I would say that's hardly the majority. But they are often the most outspoken so it seems like all the college shares the same views, in particular, a very left point of view. I think yes, the college tends towards the left, but I know my group of friends and I are open to Republican ideas/some are Republicans! I've read some reviews concerning scorn for getting married…but I personally haven't encountered that and would not scorn anyone for getting engaged. Perhaps that's just me.In any case, one thing is for sure: a very particular type of student will the most out of Wellesley. It's definitely not a school for all females but for those who do go to Wellesley and love it, they will have gotten a great deal out of their education, and have skills that will prepare them to take on the real life, whether in a high profile job, marriage, or grad school.
