Don't
remember much from the classroom. The social structure of
the school taught me a lot about American racism and
classism. I had never interacted with core, upper middle
class white people. I was astonished that they behaved
so badly and thought so narrowly! The kind of
behaviours I saw over and over from my fellow undergrads
would have marked them as nothings in the black community
I grew up in. The drunkenness, the mean-spiritedness, the
arrogance, and the sense of entitlement was all too much
for me! I was depressed for three years and
found a way to get out for my fourth year,
thank God. Have always regretted going to Colgate
Thanks for more Colgate "brilliance". I was smart enough to get credit for doing my 4th year elsewhere. When did you get to be in charge of awarding "Alumnus" status anyway? How come the university accepts money from non-alumni in alumni fundraisers? Nice to see Colgate is as snobby and bitchy as ever.
