I attended WAC in 2008, and when I saw the "cutest Girls" ranking I actually spit out my drink, after seeing that I decided that I needed to voice my opinion of this place. Unless the last 2 classes of freshmen have changed something drastically, I wouldn't touch most of the girls there with a 10-foot pole. The party scene is mediocre. After the first semester you just see the same people over and over again at the same places. I was involved in greek life and it was fun, but I found a better party scene at a commuter school in the middle of nowhere Ohio. However, I will give WAC credit for their creativity with such games as 180 cup. They do keep it interesting, even if you are partying with the same people every day. Don't think that you won't have wild nights here, I was drinking 5-7 days a week, but it gets old very quickly.I felt the academics were good, but certainly not worth the money. The best point I have about the faculty . I was lucky enough to live in Chester, the nicest dorm on campus. Most of my classmates did not have the same luck and got put in absolutely horrendous dorms. And if I'm forking over $40K a year, you better give me some NICE dorms! But hey, the president's Bentley is nice. I guess that's where my money went.I was an in-state student expecting the college experience, what I got felt like a 5th year of high school. The people there were either annoying "bros" from Jersey or I knew them from high school. The best people to hang out with are the international students, at least they don't use "bro" every 15 seconds. The school suffers from a very liberal east coast mentality, and after attending a small school in Ohio I learned that college can be VERY different. The school also attempted to tell me what was acceptable and unacceptable material to have on my facebook, as if they own my intellectual property just because I pay them big bucks to teach me a little bit and let me drink on their campus. Just as a note, the material in question did not involve any illegal drinking or use of drugs. I told them where to stick it, after that point I was pretty much the subject of a witch hunt because I wasn't their idea of the perfect student. Beware, they don't appreciate people who have a southern or midwestern conservative mentality. I was continuously viewed as "backwards" or "something wrong with me" because I believe in 2nd Amendment rights and drive a loud truck. The outside town is a joke, the parts that you see are beautiful, but there is certainly a dark underbelly to the town. The police waste their time busting people with modified exhaust systems and chasing a gram of weed, but choose to ignore the several crack houses in the area. I'm not exaggerating the term crack house either, it is easier to find cocaine in Chestertown than in Annapolis. One notable difference is that the students here tend to be more open to freshmen than other schools. But even with that, in the first 3 weeks everyone finds a clique and if you didn't you're out of luck. Very single-minded people, if you're not a liberal hippy type or a frat bro you're probably not going to make many friends or go to many parties. I was lucky enough to fall in with a frat and go to parties whenever I anted, but on the weekend other freshmen used to blow my phone up looking for something to do because I was "in with the frats" and could find a party. The school isn't worth the insane money they charge.
