I am kind of confused by all of the negative comments here. I am starting my sophomore year at Agnes Scott College in a few days and I love it here. Agnes is 3,000 miles away from my hometown and I could not imagine myself going to college anywhere else.

I do not mean to be rude, but I have a sincere question for many of the previous posters. Are all of you straight? I am completely serious, because I am a lesbian and I have an incredible social life here! I always have 2-3 parties that I am invited to on any night from Friday-Sunday. I also am very connected with the local Atlanta LGBT social scene. When I first came here a year ago on this day, I knew absolutely no one from the South.

I love the classes and professors here. I've always felt like I could meet with professors if I needed help with something. I'm generally fairly engaged in class. I'm pretty liberal artsy for a science major so that says a lot. I might double major in English because the English department here is great too. The Atlanta area is also a great place for internships.

Agnes Scott College is the first place I have really felt at home. There are a few irritating students, faculty and staff but for the most part people are helpful and care about their peers.

I am just trying to understand where the people who think Agnes is socially isolating are coming from. Because I imagine most other schools would be much more socially isolating for me. I have no idea about straight social life at Agnes but gay social life at Agnes is wonderful.

That's all, it is two in the morning here and I hope the post above was not poorly written. If so, I want everyone to know that I am not a bad writer it is just super late.
