TCU is a great school where you will recieve a wonderful eduacation and have an "ideal" college experience. Although, there are some things you should know abou the university. I am a black students from california. Coming from a very diverse and openminded state I found TCU to be not very diverse and many of the people to be closeminded. That was to be expected coming from a liberal city of san francisco bay area to the conservative south. I did experience many encounters of racism while I was there. People thr to say that it isn't prevalent but it is. I had probably a total of four racist encounters (people openly saying racist things to me.) Just something to be aware of if you are from out of state and arent used to this behavior. But a lot of the student body is extremely nice. There are a LOT of rich boys and girls spending daddy's money but dont pay them andy mind, it IS a private school. 3/4 of the people you meet will be in a sorority or frat, it can get to be really annoying but you eventually get used to it. Out side of some of the rude people and racial comments made it is a good school. If you dont want to deal with that dont go to school in the deep south.

questionHey! I am looking into this school for next year, but comments similar to this one are worrisome to me. I am coming from Seattle Washington which is also very accepting and open minded. I guess i fit the "norm", but I am afraid i will get tired of no independence or get sucked into it in the four years I plan to stay here. How often does the lack of diversity force people to conform or loose any independence?
responseI too am from the San Francisco Bay Area but it seems as though you didn't learn to write very well. I'm trying to take your review seriously but if the grammatical errors represent your verbal ability, it may explain why you were judged and mistreated. Of course you could have entered your comment using a smartphone but you should have at least checked it before posting. I'm deciding where to go for a MBA program and I'm on the proverbial fence about TCU. I have no financial constraints but if TCU does not embrace diversity, I don't believe I'll be able to see myself there. It's not representative of the global business environment that exists everywhere.
