Going to the University of Idaho was the best decision I made. I recommend high schoolers to visit the school during Vandal Friday to see if it is the right place for you. During Vandal Friday, students can register for classes early and stay in greek houses or residence halls.

I majored in journalism. it is a GREAT department and it is bar none the best in Idaho. Video production classes are awesome and so are the journalism classes. The professors are accessible and nice. Classes are small in this major.

It is easy to get involved with campus media. You can write for the newspaper, become a DJ at the local radio station KUOI (which is a great place), or participate in television news classes.

On campus life is great. I highly recommend living on campus as a freshman. I think the UI now requires it. I didn't live in the greek system, but I have friends that did. It just depends on your personality. I like my own space and privacy, so greek life wasn't for me. If you like being around a lot of people, maybe greek life is for you. I lived in the dorms for the first few years. It was great. Even though the tower and Wallace are old, it's pretty easy to make friends. Get involved in campus life - join organizations. There's plenty to choose from.

UI is a true college tow - thee town of Moscow revolves around campus. I came from a small town and Moscow wasn't much of a shock to me. Someone from a bigger city may be in for a bigger shock. I liked the size of Moscow. It was bigger than my hometown.

Moscow has a great downtown area. Plenty of coffee shops, places to eat, and night life if you are over 21.

Vandal football is a lot of fun. They've struggled for many years but are picking things up. Games are a LOT of fun.

My only complaint is the town needs to bring in more businesses and things to do for students. The town seems a little anti-growth at times.
