As a non-African American and a Houston native, I heard nothhing but negative comments about this school. When transferring I was deciding between UH and TSU and a few factors influenced me to choose TSU. Yes the first few days it was weird because I did not know anyone or my way around campus but the professors as well as my peers are so friendly and helpful that I felt at home within 2 weeks. The teachers actually take the time to make sure you understand the material, as well as helping you with internships and scholarships. And the cost of attending TSU iS wayyyy less than UH. TSU also has a new president who is working very hard and revamping TSU's image. My advice keep an open-mind and base you decision on your own research not from word of mouth.
