I am very proud to be a student at UNC Charlotte, and I have never regretted my decision to go to school here. Despite having a large student population in a city with nearly a million people, I believe that we still have the close-nit community feeling and accommodations of a smaller school. My only complaint about the school is the area that it is located in. Traffic can be pretty crazy and some of the surrounding neighborhoods are fairly rough, but this is an issue in any city that is Charlotte's size. During my three years at Charlotte, I have seen amazing growth and I can't help but feel that I am a part of something special. Please visit UNC Charlotte before you make any negative assumptions based on things you have heard. The scholarship program I am a part of has allowed me a chance to visit many of the public universities in the state, and I guarantee you will not find a more beautiful campus in North Carolina than UNC Charlotte's. UNC Charlotte is definitely not for everyone, but I can assure you that this is absolutely a great place to be. People often complain about there not being enough to do on campus on the weekends, but the nightlife in Charlotte is unmatched by anywhere in the state. Also, there will be a football team here in three years, and I expect that to greatly improve the on campus atmosphere during the weekends.
