Right
now i'm a freshmen at SRU, and although i've only
been here for a few weeks I'm already looking for
somewhere to transfer next year. The campus, recorces, and classes
are all as good as i was expecting, but the
student body is far below what i was expecting. People
all seem to be the same; same styles, personalities, backgrounds,
etc. No one seems to stand out, and to me
it seems like I'm the only one who isn't a
clone. I'm also having trouble making friends, becuase people see
me as a bit of a freak with my studed
belts, leather jacket, and screamo music. Everyone is friends with
people who look, talk, and act exactly like them. SRU
doean't fit into the college norm of having people of
all kinds (goths, nerds, jocks, etc) at all. It also
empties out on the weekends, which adds to the lonely
feeling.
The average student is also very stupid. My classes
aren't hard, but a lot of the people in them
are struggling. It's like they only came to SRU because
it was cheap and they take whomever applies. Even as
an honors student, i find many of the other honors
students about as “honors” material as everyone else. The only
difference is that they applied.
I can't wait till next
year to get out of here and away from all
these people. I can't stand much more of the stupidity,
“small town” mindset (ie.,ignorance), and genericness of the student body.
If you're thinking about it, answer these questions to
see it it's for you:
1. I dress preppy or
like i'm going to a gym every day
2. I
only become friends with people who are just like me,
and I don't like people who are different
3. I
go home every weekend even if it's just because
4. I have a low GPA and no other college
will take me
5. it's cheap and i'm not getting
any scholarships any time soon
If this is you,
congrats! you can take my place. I'm off to where
there's a diversity of people, and they actually *gasp* don't
care if their friends are exactly like them.
