I do not currently have a Collin College email but I was a paying student at Collin College from 2002-2004. In my experiences the lectures were usually mediocre. The assignments were okay but not that great or useful. The best class I had was in communications taught by Mrs. Rhodes. Everything I learned from her was useful and practical. The rest of the classes were somewhat disappointing and inane. The worse were economics, philosophy, government, geology, psychology, music appreciation, English, and college algebra. I hated taking the multiple choice scantron type exams. More than often the exam questions didn't even cover lecture or book material. I found that to be irritating and unfair. Don't expect to make friends. The people are very self absorbed and distracted. The faculty and students are really conservative. The students are from the south or from very religious Asian countries. So, basically everybody thinks the same. You will not see too many diverse lifestyles. You will see conservative white people and a handful of internationals who are also conservative. If you are socially liberal and independent you probably will not fit in. I found several of the people who work there to be really snide and unhelpful. And, I don't recommend this college unless you can take online courses.
