This place is sad. Haven't had one teacher I would call inspiring or even good for that matter. They are either mediocre or horrid. They just seem apathetic and don't really care about your education or career goals. Most, I've encountered here do not posses the ability to clearly express their thoughts. The ones that actually can barely speak English or are socially inept. Again, most just don't care. Cheating seems to be rampant (even overlooked) though it isn't needed because the work is pretty easy. If you just enroll and pay for the classes you could probably graduate with a C average.

They have two campuses but don't have enough professors to fill a schedule of classes at either. Be prepared to spend 4 or more hours in transit to and fro Schaumburg for an hour and fifteen minute course or two if you wish to take a full time schedule and graduate in any decent time frame.

Roosevelt likes to spout about small class sizes that are taught by professors and not grad students. I rather be taught by grad students that just taught the material to themselves than professors who can't or don't want to teach. Small class sizes seem to be more of a consequence of their enrollment rates than a planned feature and restricts the opportunities for networking that can help you in your career after you graduate. If you want to actually learn be prepared to teach yourself.

Most schools have a 3-way evaluation process where StudentsReview professors, along with other professors, and heads of the department. I have never had another professor, department chair, dean, etc sit in on a class to perform a review. Students are ~sometimes~ asked to fill out evaluations but usually not for the real horrible professors (probably because they have tenure). For this reason they retain some real terrible professors.

Their social justice mission is also a joke. All it means is that you are required to take two "signature" courses instead of courses that are actually beneficial or relevant to your education. But I must say they will gladly take your money no matter what your ethnic and education background is.

The campus is falling apart and is downright scary at night. Learn to take the stairs up 10 stories to the library cause the elevators are crowded, rickety and move at a snail's pace. The paint is chipping off of the walls, there are railings missing in some stairwells, some of the uncomfortable wooden benches are falling off the walls, and some of the bathrooms and break areas are just nasty. I know the place is a Historic building, this is just more reason to keep it fixed up instead of letting it go down the tubes as a cost saving measure while you build a new multimillion dollar sky scraper next door. However the Schaumburg campus is quite new and nice.

Be prepared to deal with the crazy "homeless" beggars who make a job of hanging out right in front, behind and sometimes in the campus. The security here is a joke. I know of at least two people who have been harassed and assaulted very near to the school.

Plain and Simple: This Place Sucks
