Major: Music Education (This Major's Salary over time)
USF, like all schools, has its pros and cons. As a music education major, its hard to judge any non-music courses. The music department is quickly growing, and opening a brand new building next semester. I really hate the marching band, though. It lacks precision and it is too soft and small. The school is always well maintained and clean, however, the food sucks and parking in impossible (not unusual at a university). It has several scenic spots, but for the most part, is cement and architecturally boring. It definitely lacks FSU's and UF's aesthetic charm. The medical and research departments are in the top of the nation. The surrounding city is perfect but only if you have plans. You can't just walk into downtown expecting to find something to do, but there are so many more things off-campus to do than FSU or UF. Of course, there are a few bad neighborhoods around campus. Just avoid the mall and wallmart at night, and you'll be fine. The football team is up and coming, but it will probably take a few more years before it really REALLY takes off. Greek life is good here, so don't let the media distort your views. Hazing here is practically non-exhistant, and is strongly enforced. As a whole, USF ranks with any other public Florida university. When it comes down to it, college is what you make of it. If you stay social, keep up with your grades, get involved, and have fun, you'll love it here!
