Major: Psychology (This Major's Salary over time)
I went as a transfer, and only for one year - so I suppose take my words with a grain of salt. I came from a really small college where the students and faculty were often less than bright. I went to TCNJ in the hopes that it would be different there. Not only was it not different, it also lacked the friendliness and personal attention I got at the school I left. The students and faculty were not necessarily dumb - but certainly less than impressive. They just seemed generally apathetic and incurious. It certainly didn't seem as if anyone was particularly happy to be there - it just seemed that those who ended up going there were the rejects of better schools.Maybe my expectations were just too high - however, if the students and faculty aren't that great, what else does the school have to offer? In a word - nothing. The surrounding city of Ewing is an ugly mess, with nothing significant other than a bowling alley. I moved from North Jersey and rented a room in an off-campus house (all my housemates ended up being drug addicts, but that's another story). The few extracurriculars I got involved with were blah…My conclusion is this: if you live nearby and don't have particularly high expectations - go (the in-state tuition is cheap as hell). Otherwise, look elsewhere.
