Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA has some serious issues with their sales and marketing folks telling outright lies about the costs of attendance, class availability, and the classroom experience/instructor knowledge. I have found my experience at Drexel to be terribly wasteful as I have learned very little yet been charged a lot.I was charged $18,000 for a mandatory "internship" which consisted of me going to work every day as I have for the past nearly 4 years at my current employer. I was told by the sales/marketing folks that during this mandatory 6 month "internship" I would not be charged any tuition unless I took courses. I was charged $18,000 and not permitted to take and classes during those two school terms. When questioning this I got the runaround, the drones in one department telling me "It's part of the tuition, got got "co-op credits for your $18,000", and referring me to anothjer person or department when they wouldn't give any more than that as an answer.Due to large amounts of class cancellations and many prerequisites which they will not waive, I have had two terms of paying for full time tuition while only taking classes part time as the university did not offer a sufficient number of classes I needed. When I inquired about being charged full time tuition when they only offered the classes I needed full time I was given the runaround, saying they only offered my program full time so I had to pay full time tuition. The classes don't teach what the course descriptions say they will. Often there are poor folks getting a free ride on my dime who don't understand the material at all, so those of us who are IT professionals can not learna nything new as the profs lower the course to the dumbest common denominator.Basically Drexel University has been the msot expensive mistake of my life and I am on the brink of financial ruin while having learned very little. I feel extremely deceived and cheated. Going back to school has shattered my dreams of a nice comfortable life. I really wish I researched colleges more before going back to finish my degree.
