Major: Computer Science (This Major's Salary over time)
I'm only a first year student, and frankly within the first week here I was already wanting to go else where. This school is on the professional level when it comes to making itself "look" super duper. It isn't, dorm life is terrible, classes (unless you're a STEM) are so easy it isn't even good for grades because you'll be making so many dumb mistakes in your work. I've even seen assignments for higher level classes and it isn't hard. The financial aid office here doesn't coordinate & they limited how much money they think students are worth. The Computer Science program here will pretty much force students into game design once upper level classes roll around. However if you're a biology, medical field, or chemistry major you'll have a much better time here, those programs really do excel and the professors from what I've seen are some of the best in the state(because most went to UT Austin!). Professors for the most part are willing to go out of their way to help but as always there are some not so nice teachers here. If you can go anywhere with a bigger and better reputation, do it. Oh and if you can't stand heavy heavy heavy smokers, be forewarned, they dwell here.
Responses
responseI'm also a CS major here, and while I agree with the forcing into game dev thing, just to give you a heads up, but the curriculum gets MUCH harder starting with 1362. It levels out once you're done with 2305 and gets fairly easy again, but just keep in mind that it DOES get harder (at least for a little bit).
