Major: School of Information (This Major's Salary over time)
This school is very misleading in what it has to offer. In my experience here I expected to be given an opportunity to have hands-on, active classes, instead I get repetitive book readings, and powerpoints being read. The level of interaction in the classes is minimal at best, I have no drive or desire to be active in the useless class activities that will have no real effect on my actual career. The staffing is a poor excuse for an educational standpoint, a lot of "I don't knows", or the professor having to be shown/told how to use the technology by the students. While there is some good in the college I have seen that few and far between. When a problem arises if you go to a person in an administrative position, they push you away and don't care. There have been times where they canceled a major nearing the end of a students graduation and gave the student no alternative for success. The one thing I can say is do not attend this college if you are going into the networking major because you will not get the hands-on that you will want to be successful in the business world. The only thing this college has going for it is the Penn State name that is put on your degree. This college is way too overpriced for the educational experience that you are receiving, and also all of the individual places on campus are highly overpriced, tuition raises every year by 10%, as does food and the restrictions allowed to use you ID to obtain food or other such necessities.
